And then, where would you like to publish it? On a dating site?" I replied, somewhere between amused and worried. "While you were sleeping and tossing and turning in bed, I took many others of you, but this one, besides not showing your face, for your obvious privacy, intrigues me." I remained silent, reflecting. Valerie was a very dear friend, but like all artists, also a little too exuberant and reckless. "Alor? So, dear?" May I? After huffing, to chase away my fears, I replied: "Do what you want with it, even if I'm sure I'll regret it. You'll be the cover of the book you read the draft of last month." "Are you crazy? We miraculously found a room. Did you see what a bare, lacking backdrop?" "Yes. Chambre miteux." "Squalid room," as they say in Italy. "That's why I'm so excited about the photo. Think about it!" After a pause, she continued: "It fully captures the essence of what I want to express about the protagonist of my story. Inside the prison of conformism, simplicity, and mediocrity that she has built around herself, there is a woman that every man would desire to possess." And so I really ended up on the cover...
